Scrying Scrying is an
English word "descry" which means "to make out dimly" or
"to reveal". There have been many purposes for the activity, to see
into the future, find lost objects or persons and track criminals. Scrying is an
ancient technique of gazing into an object such as a crystal ball. Some people
are able to achieve visions by gazing into a bowl of water, mirror, tea leaves,
fire embers or flames. Anyone can scry
- it takes a clear relaxed mind (same as meditation) and practice. Do it on your
own in a quiet, dimly lit room. The amount of time it takes will vary for
everyone, give it about half an hour per session - it may take several attempts
before you start seeing images. If you are using
a crystal ball or a mirror, make sure you cleanse it first - use one of the
methods applied for gemstone cleansing. Go into a quiet,
dimly lit room make yourself comfortable and relaxed, then steadily gaze into
the scrying surface (you may blink or allow your focus to wander a bit).
Eventually, you should be able to see images, occasionally like the clarity of a
photograph. You will actually see these images with your eyes. As the images
become clearer, you will find you know things on what you are seeing. Pay
attention to what your know about images you are seeing. Once you have
become familiar and comfortable with scrying your crystal ball, you may want to
start scrying other objects. Hopefully these
guidelines will be enough to start you on your way, as with most practices the
only limitation lies within yourself.
